In the wake of the arrest of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA A Revanth Reddy for allegedly trying to bribe a nominated member of the Assembly, the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) has asked for the derecognition of TDP. Reddy, who had been leveling serious allegations against Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao and TRS MLAs, was disliked by the ruling front. According to a report in The Times of India, TRS MLA Karne Prabhakar demanded that on the basis of People's Representation Act the TDP can be derecognised for offering bribe to another MLA. Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari has also reportedly alleged that Andra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is responsible for the issue. He alleged that Naidu is an expert in purchasing rival party legislators. However, the report says that TDP leaders allege that TRS is behind this arrest and the bribery case is false. “The ruling party is now trying to implicate our MLA in a false case,” TDP leader Dayakar Rao said as per the report. The report also said that TDP MLA K Laxman alleged that TRS is trying to gain in the MLC elections.
