Rajiv Menon’s last directorial Sarvam Thaala Mayam received accolades despite not performing well at the box office. The film also marked the debut of Rajiv Menon as a music director with the director composing the tunes for one of the songs in the album.

Following the positive reviews for Sarvam Thaala Mayam, it was reported that Rajiv Menon will direct Jayam Ravi next. However, it now appears that the reports are not true. In an interview to Silverscreen, Rajiv Menon said, “It is true that Jayam Ravi had liked my previous film (Sarvam Thaala Mayam). But I have not approached anyone for a movie. In fact, I am only in the scripting stage of my next project.” With this, Rajiv Menon put to rest the rumours about working with Jayam Ravi.

Sarvam Thaala Mayam marked Menon’s return to direction after two decade. The film is a musical drama that has been written and directed by Rajiv Menon. The film had GV Prakash Kumar and Aparna Balamurali in the lead with Nedumudi Venu, Vineeth, Santha Dhananjayan and Kumaravel in supporting roles. Out of the six songs in the album, four songs were composed by AR Rahman and one each by Rajiv Menon and Tyagaraja. Ravi Yadav was the cinematographer for the venture with Anthony being the editor. The film was produced by Latha Menon under the banner Mindscreen Film Institute.

In the meantime, Jayam Ravi is busy with Komali, which is directed by debutant Pradeep Ranganathan. The film is being bankrolled by Vels Film International. Music for Komali is being composed by Hip Hop Tamizha. The film is said to be a romantic comedy which has Kajal Aggarwal and Samyuktha Hegde as the heroines. According to reports, Jayam Ravi has done a lot of homework for his role and has lost about 20 kg for it.
