The FIR was filed on July 19 this year. Both Ananth Kumar and his wife told the media that she had not seen the FIR. Ananth Kumar said, "It was a trust that was started by my brother in law in memory of his daughter who had passed away. There was more profit than liabilities but still, with lofty ideals, it was completely handed over to Basaveshwar Vidya Vardhak Sangh. I have nothing to do with this. My wife nor I have any idea about the FIR as we have not been contacted by anyone regarding this."
