If the industry grapevine is anything to go by, Ajith’s Viswasam is all set to have a surprise addition.

For a few weeks now, rumours have been doing the rounds that Anirudh Ravichander, after the successful collaboration in Vedalam and Vivegam, might be roped in for the third time by director Siva for Viswasam.

There were other reports that Yuvan Shankar Raja, last seen working with Ajith in Aarrambam, was signed up to compose the music for Viswasam. The makers so far haven’t reacted to the rumours, but it looks like they have finalised D Imman and the announcement is expected to be made soon. If he signs on, this will be Imman’s first outing with Ajith.

To be produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, the project was officially launched last December. Earlier this week, the makers officially announced that Nayanthara has been signed as the leading lady, amidst rumours that Anushka Shetty was originally considered for the role. Also, Shraddha Srinath is said to have been signed for a crucial role.

Following the debacle of Vivegam, a high-budget international spy thriller, Siva and team have decided to make a film against the backdrop of North Chennai on a moderate budget. The shooting is expected to commence from March.

It has to be seen if Siva and Ajith can bounce back strongly from the failure of Vivegam, in which the star played an Interpol agent and was paired with Kajal Aggarwal. The film was shot entirely across exotic locations in Europe and also marked the debut of Vivek Oberoi and Akshara Haasan in Tamil filmdom. While Vivek played the antagonist, Akshara played a hacker. Despite earning over Rs 100 crore in no time, the film bombed at the box office.

Overall the makers of Viswasam are not willing to give away too much information till the project officially goes on the floors.
