A court in Assam's Karimganj district on Monday issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against BJP leader Subramanian Swamy for failing to appear before the court even after he was issued a summon on March 19. A complaint has been registered against Swamy for allegedly making a remark on mosques. According to a report in The Times of India, the additional CJM (Karimganj) in his order stated that Swamy should be arrested on or before June 30 and also directed the Delhi and Assam Police to make sure that he was produced before the court by the date after his arrest. The reports adds Swamy had reportedly said during a recent trip to Guwahati, "A mosque is not a religious place. It is just a building and it can be demolished any time. If anyone disagrees with me on this, I am ready to have a debate on the issue. I got this information from people of Saudi Arabia."
