The News Minute| December 11, 2014| 3.37 pm ISTThe popular video surfing website, Youtube has launched a new offline feature for the Indian market which allows its users to take a video offline using either Wi-fi or data plan to be watched later.This video will be made available for unlimited viewing for the next 48 hours without it needing to buffer every single time, reported DNA.According to the report India draws in over 40% traffic on Youtube, most of which are mobile users, it also quoted Youtube Vice President of Engineering saying, “By launching this offline experience, we hope to help people move past the challenges of data connection, speed and cost to enjoy a smooth, buffer-free version of YouTube."The report also mentions names of production houses which will have content made available offline like T-Series, Saregama and Yashraj Films and will also benefit from this move by Youtube. The move by Youtube is targeted at mobile users to make their services more accessible to its avid users. According to the report there are 10,000 Indian films, 250,000 Indian songs on Youtube and according to their analysts Indians watch at least 5 billion videos on Youtube per month and are expected to be the second largest market for video content in the world by 2015 beating America.
