Tamil film Zombie starring Yogi Babu and Yashika Anand is currently under progress. In this film, Yashika plays a doctor, revealed the film’s director Bhuvan R Nullan. In an interview to a Tamil daily, the director had said that there are no heroes or heroines in this film as every character is important to the script.
However, Yogi Babu and Yashika Anand will be the central characters with importance, he said. Both these characters have a connection in the film and it is being kept as suspense, said the director.
Also, Bhuvan R Nullan made it clear that his film is not the first ever Zombie film in Kollywood. The director said that the Jayam Ravi starrer Miruthan is the first Zombie film in Tamil but the difference between the two films is that Miruthan was a serious horror while Zombie will be a comedy horror.
On making this kind of a film, the director has been quoted by the cinemaexpress.com as saying, “I was very particular not to end up being offensive or derogatory while writing the script. There will be lots of perky fun and atypical scares, but not at the cost of hurting anyone.” On choosing Yogi Babu to play the role, the director has said, “The character goes on a vengeful killing spree. In many ways, you could say he is playing a negative character with a comical twist.”
It will be first ever film of that genre to be shot in 3D and technicians that have worked on the magnum opus 2.0 have been roped in for this project as well.
The shooting of this film has reached the final stages and the team was recently shooting the pre-climax portions. Reports are that the shooting is happening on the ECR stretch near Chennai and only during the nights. Apparently, the story of the film happens on a single night and therefore, it has become inevitable for Zombie team to shoot only during the nights.
