For the second time in a week, the Madras Crocodile Bank Trust has said that no crocodiles  have escaped from their premises.

Replying to queries from The News Minute over Facebook, the trust said: “There has been no containment issues all our crocs are secure. We are addressing a lot of issues at the moment. And hence unable to reply to calls. But the news is false.”

At least from November 28, rumours have been circulating that crocodiles have escaped from the crocodile park, and are getting circulated on social media. On November 30 too, the croc bank had to clarify to a Facebook query.

It said: “We have a 2m high wall surrounding the entire facility and even in the unlikely event of an escape, the animal will remain within our property. We have watchmen who do rounds the entire night and a large set of staff during the day watching the animals. Safety is a priority for us and we do the best we can to prevent incidents.”
