The much-awaited teaser of Nivin Pauly’s newest film Mikhael was released on Wednesday. The movie’s shooting was wrapped up in less than three months which led to a lot of expectations among his fans.
The teaser begins with shots of a woman and a child, walking in a cemetery with flowers in their hands and a voice-over saying that he was not God to liberate a soul by making it repent. Ample shots of action and suspense dot the 1.24- minute-long teaser. The teaser also shows quite a few shots of Nivin Pauly and the leading lady Manjima Mohan in white coats, strengthening the rumours of them playing doctors in the film. Ending with Nivin Pauly’s voice saying ‘I am Mikhael’ in Malayalam, the teaser reveals just enough to kindle the interest of the fans.
Reports say that Mikhael which is touted to be a family entertainer will also have elements of a thriller. Starring Nivin Pauly in the titular role, Mikhael also has actor Unni Mukundan playing an important role, which has not yet been revealed. Manjima Mohan plays the female lead in the movie. The film also has JD Chakravarthy, Siddique, Renji Panicker, Ashokan, Shanthi Krishna, Kalabhavan Shajon and KPAC Lalitha playing supporting roles.
Haneef Adeni, who made his debut with the Mammootty starrer The Great Father, has directed the film. The movie is bankrolled by Joseph Anto under his banner Anto Joseph Film Company.
Nivin’s last release Kayamkulam Kochunni was a big hit and he is currently shooting for Geethu Mohandas’s directorial venture Moothon, a bilingual to be released in Malayalam and Hindi. Moothon also features actors Sobhita Dhulipala, Shashank Arora, Harish Khanna, Alencier Ley Lopez and Dileesh Pothan. The film, which is about a younger sibling going in search of the elder, is produced by Aanand L Rai, Ajay G Rai and Alan McAlex under the banner Colour Yellow Productions and JAR Pictures.
