Young stars from the Malayalam film industry – Nivin Pauly, Fahadh Faasil and Dulquer Salmaan – have carved a niche for themselves not only in the Malayalam film industry but in other industries such as Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. When Nivin Pauly was asked in an interview if there is a strong competition prevailing among young actors, he told the IANS, “There is no competition between us. We are doing films that we believe are the best. It’s all good for each one of us.”
When asked about Dulquer and Fahadh hailing from a film background as the former’s father is mega star Mammootty and the latter is the son of noted filmmaker Faasil, Nivin pointed out, “An actor who doesn’t have a film background always has to struggle a little more than the people who have a film background. For them, it will be much easier as they will have lots of contacts.”
Interestingly, all the three actors have shared screen space in Bangalore Days, directed by Anjali Menon in 2014, which turned out to be a huge hit.
Nivin Pauly is currently busy with the Haneef Adeni directorial Mikhael. He will be seen playing a doctor in this film. Besides, Nivin Pauly, it stars Unni Mukundan in an important role. While the actor said that his character is named Marci Jr, nothing else has been revealed yet. Actor Manjima Mohan plays the female lead in Mikhael and it also has JD Chakravarthy, Siddique, Renji Panicker, Ashokan, Shanthi Krishna, Kalabhavan Shajon and KPAC Lalitha playing supporting roles.
It may be noted here that Nivin’s last film release was Kayamkulam Kochunni which turned out to be a massive hit. The film, made on a high budget, was directed by Rosshan Andrrews and produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner Sree Gokulam Movies.
