The shooting of the Mammootty starrer One is happening with some interesting details about it being disclosed. The recent buzz is that Nimisha Sajayan has found a berth in this political drama that has Mammootty playing the Chief Minister of Kerala. Earlier, it was reported that Samyuktha Menon would be a part of One but later the role went to Nimisha with the former opting out due to date issues.

The cast comprises Vishnu Unnikrishnan, Renji Panicker, Sreenivasan, Joju George and Murali Gopy playing important roles. The film, directed by Santhosh Viswanath, is bankrolled by ICHAIS Productions. It was reported a few days ago that the muhurat of One happened with Joju George, Ranjith, Shankar Ramakrishnan, Salim Kumar, and Ramesh Pisharody attending the event. The shooting began soon after that.

Nimisha Sajayan has a number of films in different stages of production needing her attention. Of this, Thuramukham is an important film. It is being directed by Rajeev Ravi. The shooting of this film began in Kannur earlier this year and has reached the post-production stage.

Besides Nivin Pauly in the lead role along with Nimisha Sajayan and Biju Menon, the cast also includes Poornima Indrajith and Aashiq Abu in important roles. Thuramukham is about the famous protests against the ‘chappa’ system that was practised in the Cochin harbour during the 1950s. In the despicable chappa system, copper coins were thrown to workers and whoever managed to get one was guaranteed work. The melee that followed once resulted in police firing and three labourers in Mattancherry had died. This tale would be told in the film.

Nimisha will next be seen in Stand Up, directed by Vidhu Vincent. The film, produced by Anto Joseph and B Unnikrishnan, is written by Umesh Omanakuttan, who also wrote Vidhu’s first film, Manhole. Rajisha Vijayan, Arjun Ashokan, Venkitesh, Divya Gopinath, Sajitha Madahil and others are also part of the cast of Stand Up.
