Director Omar Lulu had confirmed earlier that Arun Kumar, who played the small boy in Mohanlal’s 1999 film, Olympian Anthony Adam, will be the hero in his upcoming film Dhamaka. He also went on to reveal that when a producer did not want Arun to be a part of the star cast, he simply switched over to another producer as he was set on having Arun as the hero.

The latest update about this film is that Nikki Galrani has been roped in to play the female lead and will be seen in a glamourous avatar.

Talking about Dhamaka, Omar Lulu said in an interview to the Times of India, “Dhamaka will be an out-and-out comedy, with the hero marrying a rich girl, played by Nikki, and finding that he faces an impotence issue. Nikki Galrani will be seen in a glamorous avatar. It will be a colourful entertainer with a subject that has not been talked about in our films. It will also have a message for youth.”

The others in the star cast of Dhamaka will be Mukesh, Urvashi, Dharmajan and Hareesh Kanaran. The film is bankrolled by MK Nasser.

The shooting for Dhamaka will begin on July 30 in Thrissur, Omar Lulu revealed. As per plans, the film should hit the marquee in November this year.

Director Omar Lulu shot to limelight with two of his films, Happy Wedding and Chunkzz, turning out to be massive hits. However, his last outing, Oru Adaar Love, failed to wow audiences despite the high expectations for the film before its release. The film had turned out to be very popular even before its release thanks to its heroine Priya Prakash Warrier’s wink in a song, but it failed to cash in on it at the theatres.
