Kirrak Party, a campus rom-com, is the Telugu remake of the Kannada blockbuster Kirik Party.

The film’s shooting has been wrapped up and its teaser garnered a lot of attention. While there were reports that it would hit the silver screens on February 9, the latest reports are that its release is postponed to a later date.

Sources add that the film may now be a summer release, considering its genre which is sure to attract the youngsters just as its Kannada version. On the reason for its postponement, we hear that the makers of Kirrak Party want to fine-tune the final product in the post-production stage.

Directed by Sharan Koppisetty, the film stars Nikhil Siddharth in the lead role with Simran Pareenja and Samyuktha Hegde as the female leads. Others in the star cast include Rakendu Mouli, Viva Raghav, Deepthi Sunaina and RJ Hemanth.

While the story is based on Rishab Shetty’s Kirik Party, it is directed by Sharan Koppisetty. Sudheer Varma has penned the screenplay and Chandoo Mondeti is in charge of the dialogues.

The film is produced by Ramabrahmam Sunkara under his banner AK Entertainments. B Ajaneesh Loknath has composed music for this entertainer with Advaitha Gurumurthy cranking the camera and MK Varma editing it.

With the makers of Kirrak Party postponing the release from February 9 to a later date, a major box office clash has been averted. Sai Dharam Tej’s Inttelligent and the Mohan Babu starrer Gayatri will hit the silver screens on February 9 now and a day later Varun Tej’s Tholi Prema will be making it to the theatres.

The Kannada version of Kirrak Party was directed by Rishab Shetty and starred Rakshit Shetty, Rashmika Mandanna and Samyuktha Hegde in the lead roles with the star cast also including Achyuth Kumar and Pramod Shetty.
