The second look poster of Nayanthara’s long pending project, Kolayudhir Kaalam, bears some good news - the film will release in January 2019. Will it clash with Petta, Viswasam and Vandha Raajavathan Varuven for Pongal? If that’s the case, Nayanthara might have two releases this January.

The film’s first look, which was released in October 2016, built great expectations among fans, but unfortunately, no further details followed. The second-look poster, which was released on Friday, shows three different profiles of Nayanthara and promises to be a gripping thriller.

Produced by Vashu Bhagnani, the film is being helmed by Chakri Toleti, who made his directorial debut with Unnaipol Oruvan in 2009. Kolayudhir Kaalam is simultaneously being made in Hindi, under the title Khamoshi, with Tammannaah in the lead.

Yuvan Shankar Raja has been roped in to compose the music for Kolayudhir Kaalam, which is being rumoured to be the remake of the Hollywood flick Hush (2016) starring Kate Siegel in the lead.

Last seen in Imaikaa Nodigal, another thriller, Nayanthara also has Airaa in Tamil, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, a Telugu biopic, Love Action Drama in Malayalam and Thalapathy 63 with Vijay and Atlee.

Nayanthara's next release, Viswasam with Ajith, is scheduled to hit the screens for Pongal 2019.

Airaa, which will be Nayanthara’s 63rd film, is being directed by Sarjun KM and produced by Kotapadi J Rajesh. The film’s first look poster hints that Nayanthara’s makeover for her second character in it might make the star almost unrecognisable. Airaa is reportedly scheduled for Christmas 2018.

In recent years, Nayanthara has been careful about choosing her roles. Some of the recent films, where she played the lead, include Kolamaavu Kokilaa, Aramm and Dora, to name a few.

Director Gopi Nainar recently announced the sequel to the 2017 political drama Aramm, with Nayanthara in the lead. The director clarified that Aramm 2, as it is being called currently, will not show the actor playing a politician. More details on this are awaited.
