Nayanthara or 'Lady Superstar', as she is referred to in the south, has proved that she indeed is a prominent personality. Making it to Forbes India Celebrity 100 2018, Nayanthara is the only female actor to have made it to the list from the south.

Nayanthara features at number 69, with her total earning credited at Rs 15.17 crores, just after Ravindra Jadeja who makes Rs 15.39. Nayanthara has raced ahead of stars like Kamal Haasan (71), Ram Charan (72) and Vijay Deverakonda (73) in this list.

Forbes India Celebrity 100 ranks the highest earning Indian celebrities.

Badminton player PV Sindhu stands at 20, making her the youngest celebrity from the south to make it to Top 20.

Other celebrities to make it to the Top 50 from the south include music composer AR Rahman at Number 11, actors Rajinikanth at 14, Vijay at 26, Vikram at 29, Suriya and Vijay Sethupathi at 34.

The list includes Telugu stars Pawan Kalyan at 24, Jr NTR at 28, Mahesh Babu at 33 and Nagarjuna at 36. Kannada actor Koratala Siva stands at 39 with cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin making it to number 44 and Malayalam actor Mammootty at 49.

Dhanush, who awaits the release of Maari 2, stands at number 53 followed by badminton player Saina Nehwal at 58 and Telugu star Allu Arjun at 64.

Salman Khan has retained his top spot for the third year in a row in this listing, earning a whopping Rs 253.25 crores. He is closely followed by Virat Kohli who makes Rs 228.09 crores.

Deepika Padukone is the highest earning female actor, who stands at number 4 with earnings of Rs 112.8 crores. Aishwarya Rai, who makes Rs 16.83 crores, is at No. 56 on the list. A total number of 18 women celebrities have made it to Forbes India Celebrity 100 2018 of which only three are in the south, with Deepika and Aishwarya primarily working in Hindi films. 

Nayanthara, who made her debut in Malayalam in 2003, leads the surge of women-centric films in the south. She currently awaits the release of films like Airaa, Viswasam, Love Action Drama, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and Kolayudhir Kaalam.
