The release date of the upcoming Malayalam film Love Action Drama is out! Yes, the movie will be hitting the marquee on September 5 to coincide with the Onam festival. Reports are that Love Action Drama is a spin-off of the yesteryear hit movie Vadakkunokkiyanthram.

Incidentally, Vadakkunokkiyanthram was directed by actor – director Sreenivasan and wielding the megaphone for Love Action Drama is his son Dhyan Sreenivasan, who will be making his directorial debut. Besides directing the film, he has also penned the script for this flick. The names of the lead characters in Vadakkunokkiyanthram, Dineshan and Shoba have been retained for Love Action Drama as well.

In this film, Nayan will be seen playing a Palakkad Brahmin girl fluent in both Malayalam and Tamil. Nivin Pauly will be playing the role of Dineshan in the movie. Hailing from a well to do family, Dineshan strives to make it big all by himself and what ensues during the course, forms the rest of the story. Besides the lead pair, the star cast also includes Sreenivasan, Urvasi, Aju Varghese, Dhanya Balakrishnan and director Antony Joseph, playing pivotal roles. Touted to be a complete entertainer, the film’s shooting is currently underway. Reports are that shooting of this film was delayed due to call sheet issues of the lead actors following which its release had to be postponed to September.

Dhyan has roped in a strong technical team for the project. Shan Rahman is the music composer for this flick while the lyrics have been penned by Dhyan’s brother Vineeth Sreenivasan. Sreenivas Reddy is cranking the camera and the editing is done by Vivek Harshan with Art Direction being taken care of by Ajay Mangadu. The film will be shot extensively in Chennai, Bengaluru and Kochi.
