Here's the big news that south Indian movie fans have been dying for - Nivin Pauly and Nayanthara are all set to act in a film titled Love Action Drama.

To be directed by Dhyan Sreenivasan, the teaser of the film was released on Sunday. But wait, we don't see the faces of the stars at all, so why is everyone so excited? Because the dialogues played in the video are from Vadakku Nokki Yanthram, the 1989 classic film which was penned by Dhyan's father, Sreenivasan, who also played the lead role in the comedy.

Vadakku Nokki Yanthram was a hilarious film about a man with an inferiority complex about his looks (Dineshan played by Sreenivasan) who marries a beautiful woman (Shobha played by Parvathi). The film enjoys a cult status till date and lines from it still enjoy tremendous recall value. It was later remade in Tamil, Kannada and Hindi.

The teaser for Love Action Drama says that Nivin Pauly and Nayanthara will bring back Dineshan and Parvathi back to the screen - even if it's hard to imagine the dashing Nivin fussing about his lack of good looks!

Though Nayanthara made her debut in the Malayalam industry, she has worked only in a handful of films when compared to her lengthy filmography in Tamil and Telugu.

Shaan Rahman who has previously composed the music for Nivin's superhit films like Om Shanti Oshana will be working on this project, too. Produced by Aju Varghese and Visakh Subramaniam in association with M Star, the film will supposedly be out in summer 2018. Speaking at the launch of the teaser, Dhyan Sreenivasan revealed that he'd come up with the story for a short story competition 8 years ago and that Aju Varghese had told him to convert it into a script for a film.
