Odiyan is turning out to be the hot topic among the film buffs; especially after its lead star Mohanlal’s youngish look in it was revealed recently. And now, the magic – thriller is back in the news with the team roping in the leading VFX company NY VFXWAALA for the VFX work. Headed by Bollywood star Ajay Devgn, this VFX Studio is one of the best in the country, having worked with leading filmmakers. In fact, the VFX of films such as Baahubali 2, Dangal, Theri and Bajirao Mastani was handled by this studio and the result was there for everybody to see. Having done the VFX for well over 200 films, the studio went on to win the National Award for the Bollywood flick Shivaay, which had Ajay Devgn in the lead. Well, with NY VFXWAALA onboard for the VFX, we can expect some great visuals in Odiyan for sure.

The shooting of this film began in Varanasi in August this year and is progressing at a breakneck speed. Directed by VA Shrikumar Menon with screenplay written by K Harikrishnan, the magnum opus is bankrolled by Anthony Perumbavoor under his banner Aashirvad Cinemas. M Jayachandran is composing the tunes for the songs and Sam CS is scoring the background music. Shaji Kumar is cranking the camera for this flick with John Kutty signed up for editing.

Mohanlal plays the title role in Odiyan and Manju Warrier is pairing up with him. Veteran actor Prakash Raj will be seen playing a pivotal role in this flick and he is sharing the screen space with Mohanlal after nearly two decades, which has upped the expectation levels for Odiyan.

Touted to have some high-octane action sequences, the film’s stunt scenes are being choreographed by the Hollywood stunt choreographer Peter Hein. Prashanth Madhav has erected some great sets for the film which is set in a different era.
