Vijay Sethupathi is not only a favourite among his fans and movie buffs but among his contemporaries and film personalities as well. He is one of the few actors in south who performs a variety of roles with ease and élan. The star is not only keen on doing hero-oriented roles but also accepts a wide range of roles including villain, character, and cameos. This tells us a lot about Vijay Sethupathi’s selection of projects and calibre as an actor.

Praising him for selecting the best and not choosing image-oriented films, actor Nani recently revealed that he is in awe of the actor. During the promos of his film Gang Leader, Nani said that his strongest desire now is to choose films like Vijay Sethupathi and act in all kinds of challenges roles.

After sealing his place in the Tamil film industry with a slew of hits, Vijay Sethupathi ventured into Mollywood with Marconi Mathai. He appeared in a guest role in this Jayaram starrer. In Marconi Mathai, which was directed by Sanil Kalathil, Jayaram played an ex-army man working as a security in a bank while Vijay Sethupathi appeared as the actor himself.

The actor is now expecting the release of his first Telugu film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. Sye Raa is being bankrolled by Ram Charan Teja under his home banner Konidela Production Company on a budget of Rs 200 crore. It has a bevy of stars from different film industries including Nayanthara, Tamannaah, Jagapathi Babu, Kiccha Sudeep, Pragya Jaiswal and Brahmaji. R. Rathnavelu is the cameraman for this film, with A Sreekar Prasad editing it and Amit Trivedi wielding the music baton. It is a trilingual that will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.  Sye Raa is likely to hit the marquee for Dusshera this year.
