Rumours were rife that Nani will be turning a writer with director Vikram Kumar’s next. The actor has been roped in to play the lead role in the Vikram Kumar directorial and rumours also surfaced that he will be penning the screenplay along with the director. However, it has now been clarified by the director himself that Nani is not the co-writer of the film. Vikram Kumar has reportedly told that he is penning the script and that it will be completed in January. The director also added that the shooting will begin in February.

With the script work still going on, Vikram Kumar is yet to finalise on the star cast for this project. It will be done once the script is done, we hear. A buzz doing rounds is that Siddharth will be playing the antagonist in this project as it has a big scope for him to perform. Yet another rumour going on is that it could be a horror genre too. However, the director remains tight-lipped about the project as of now.

When asked about Nani working with him as a writer, Vikram Kumar had reportedly told the Deccan Chronicle, “I don’t know whether he’s turning a writer, but as far as my film goes, he’s only the protagonist.”

Vikram Kumar’s last film release was the Akhil Akkineni starrer Hello. The film was bankrolled by Nagarjuna under his banner Annapurna Studios. Anup Rubens had composed music for this venture with PS Vinod cranking the camera and Pawin Pudi editing it. While Akhil and Kalyani Priyadarshan played the lead pair, those in the supporting roles were Jagapati Babu, Ramya Krishna, Ajay, Satya Krishnan, Anish Kuruvilla, Vennela Kishore and Posani Krishna Murali.
