Tollywood star Nagarjuna has been reportedly signed up by Dhanush for his upcoming directorial. The film will be made in Tamil as well as Telugu and there is some news about Nag’s role in it. According to reports doing rounds, the Tollywood star will be playing a man from the 15th century. Though the film is set in the modern times, Nag’s portions will be from a time period.

The film’s official pooja happened some time ago and all other details are being kept under wraps. Reports are that the director has not revealed the entire script to even those closely associated with the project. To be titled yet, the film will be bankrolled by Sri Thenandal Films.

Dhanush, besides helming the project as its director, will also be playing the lead role. The rest of the star cast in supporting roles will be played by Sarath Kumar, SJ Surya, Srikanth and Aditi Rao Hydari.

In an interview to the Times of India, Nagarjuna had reportedly told earlier about the Dhanush directorial. “It’s a period drama and this role is extra special to me because I’ve attempted something I’ve never done before. I play a character who goes 600 years back in time. It’s an interesting role,” Nag said.

It may be noted here that Dhanush’s Pa Paandi is currently being remade in Kannada under the title Ambi Ning Vayasaayitho. The film has Ambareesh reprising the role done by Raj Kiran with Sudeep playing the role done by Dhanush.

Reports are that Nag will be joining the sets from the second week of November. Dhanush is currently basking in glory over his recent release Vada Chennai receiving rave reviews. Dhanush had confirmed that he will be joining hands with filmmaker Vetrimaaran for the fourth time. The film will be based on the Tamil novel, Vekkai, written by Poomani.
