Tollywood’s ‘King’ Nagarjuna is currently hosting the popular TV show Bigg Boss, which is taking away a major chunk of his time. The star, therefore, hasn’t signed any new films. His last release was Manmadhudu 2, which sank at the box office without creating any ripples as had been expected. This has led to the actor taking time to choose his next.

According to reports, Nag is not in a hurry to don the greasepaint soon as he is studying the type of roles offered to him. The star wants to come up with a big hit and his choosing the project with great care. However, he first intends to wrap up the Bigg Boss show which is nearing completion.

Sources in the know say that Nag is considering a remake of the hit Hindi movie Raid. He may be reprising the role done by Ajay Devgn as the IRS Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax. Raid, which released last year, was an action crime film written by Ritesh Shah and directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. It starred Ajay Devgn, Ileana D'Cruz and Saurabh Shukla in the lead roles with Amit Sial, Devas Dixit, Gayathri Iyer and Sheeba Chaddha playing supporting roles.

Amit Trivedi had composed the original music and background score for this film with Tanishk Bagchi being the revamp composer. Alphonse Roy had handled the film’s cinematography and Bodhaditya Banerjee had edited it. Made on a budget of Rs. 51 crores, Raid made around Rs. 143 crores at the box office.

Manmadhudu 2 was directed by Rahul Ravindran of Chi La Sow fame. Rakul Preet Singh played the female lead in this flick with Nag’s daughter-in-law Samantha Akkineni making a guest appearance in it along with Keerthy Suresh. The film was bankrolled jointly by Nag’s Manam enterprises and P Kiran’s Anandi Art Creations.
