With the fake image claiming that Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao was planning to join the BJP going viral, the miffed leader said on Friday that he asked the police to probe the case and find those behind the malicious campaign.

The Telangana Rashtra Samiti minister, who incidentally is party chief and Chief Minister K Chandrasekar Rao’s nephew, alleged that his political detractors were behind the campaign which was aimed at creating a rift in the party. Harish said that he has asked the DGP to initiate criminal action against the culprits.

Speaking at a press conference in Hyderabad, an irked Harish said, “I’ve not said it once, I’ve said it a 100 times, my birth (his political life) was in TRS and my death will be with the TRS.”

“Nobody should dream or have such thoughts that I’ll quit TRS. There is no scope for such things,” he added.

The image that quickly went viral in Telangana is a screenshot of a news channel, which states that Harish Rao, along with 40 MLAs, will be joining the BJP.

There were rumours too in the past that he was dissatisfied with the way KCR worked, and wanted to join the BJP instead.

“These misleading campaigns were conducted on social media earlier too. I want to make it clear once and for all that my loyalties remain with TRS and the party President K Chandrasekhar Rao. I would not like to speak more on such baseless rumours,” Rao said.

He added, “KCR’s words are my path.”

Harish also slammed the Congress in the press meet and said that no one trusted the party for it had lost public confidence.
