Huawei unveiled its latest notebook Matebook X Pro at the Mobile World Congress 2018, currently happening in Barcelona, Spain. And this notebook sports the first ever device in this range with a bezel-free display.

The display is described as FullView touchscreen and boasts of 91% screen to body ratio. The display is 3K in quality and 13.9 inches in size. The body of the Matebook X Pro has been built with metal. The keyboard is spill-proof. With the bezel being reduced to the bare minimum, Huawei has provided the webcam within the keyboard.

The Central Processing Unit is the Intel Core i7, 8th generation, though one can pick the i8 processor fitted Matebook X Pro also. Windows 10 is the operating system.

The Notebook is equipped with a power button that also acts as the fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint sensor can awaken the Notebook in just 1.9 seconds. One USB-A port, 2 USB-C ports and a standard headphone jack are provided. Owners of Huawei devices can transfer files across their devices wirelessly.

On the pricing front, the i8/8GB RAM/256GB storage Matebook X Pro will be sold at €1499 in Europe and the i7/8GB RAM/512GB storage ones at €1699. A third variant of Notebook X Pro, with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage will be priced at €1899.  The prices would work out to roughly Rs 1.19 lakh, Rs 1.35 lakh and Rs 1.50 lakh respectively.

It is learnt that these devices will be available in China, US, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Spain and Italy in February 2018 itself. The other markets may start receiving the Matbook X Pro after that.     

Besides the notebook, Huawei has launched the MediaPad M5 as well. The device is being released in 2 display sizes, 8.4 inches and 10.4 inches. The display is named Vivid display with 82% display to body ratio. While the rear panel is of metal and the front screen is protected by 2.5D curved glass. The quad speakers add to the audio capability and is supplied by Harmon Kardon. A Quick-Charge support that can charge up the MediaPad’s battery in less than 2 hours is an added feature. The battery size is 5100mAh in the 8.4inch display model and 7500mAh in the 10.8inch one. The cameras fitted are 13MP and 8MP in the rear and the front respectively. The processor fitted is Kirin 960 octa-core SoC. The RAM is 4GB and the MediaPad M5 is being launched in 3 storage variants, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB.

In the case of the higher end MediaPad M5 Pro, the chipset remains the same; however, an additional M-Pen support.
