Lenovo has been carefully positioning its smartphones at various smartphones giving customers an option to pick as per their budget. So while the Moto G series phones with the Lenovo Moto brand is positioned at the higher end of the mid-segment, the Moto E series phones are being placed in the budget segment and priced lower than them. The latest in the Moto E series awaiting launch are the Moto E4 and Moto E4 Plus. Most of the details of these two phones have since been leaked.

Moto E4 will be a 5-inch phone

The Moto E4 will be a smaller phone with a 5-inch display and 2 GB of RAM. The precise dimensions of the phone are not yet available, but the phone is likely to be 8.9 mm thick and will weigh 151gms. The main processor will be a quad-core Mediatek MT6737M chip and offer 1.3GHz clocking speed.  The phone will come with 16 GB of internal storage with a provision for a microSD slot.

Decent battery Size, modest cameras

The Moto E4 is said to sport a 2800 mAh which is decent for a phone with the given specs. The OS will be the latest Android Nougat 7.1.1 version and the battery can stand the operations for a while. It’s a dual SIM phone.

The cameras on the Moto E4 are 8 MP on the rear and 5 MP in the front. Honestly, you cannot expect more in a budget phone of this category. There is some confusion on the provision for the fingerprint scanner. Some reports indicate it may be only in the higher end Moto E4 Plus phone. One may have to wait for the confirmation to come officially.

The Moto E4 Plus

According to these latest leaks, the other phone being simultaneously released by Lenovo is the slightly bigger Moto E4 Plus, with a 5.5-inch HD display offering 720p display. The phone is expected to have 3 GB RAM and a huge 5000 mAh battery. No wonder the thickness of this version will be much higher at 9.5mm. The same quad-core Mediatek MT6737M chip is said to power this device as well. Similarly there is no difference in the OS, being Android N out of the box. That might leave one wondering why Lenovo thought of providing a battery that is almost double the size of the Moto E4. The fingerprint scanner must be a certainty on this phone. The internal storage will be 16 GB and the microSD slot will also feature in the new Moto E4 Plus.

Reports indicate that the prices in India as and when launched could be Rs 10, 000 and Rs 13, 000 for the Moto E4 and Moto E4 Plus respectively.

The date of launch is yet to be confirmed.
