The motion poster and title of Nagarjuna’s upcoming film are out and going viral as anticipated.
Though the film’s director Ram Gopal Varma said that he would release the poster only later following the untimely demise of Sridevi, an actor whom he had always idolised, he released it within a couple of days.
Ram Gopal Varma had tweeted: “After all the negativity around Sridevi, I am truly wanting some positivity and releasing the title, first look poster and release date of my most ambitious film with @iamnagarjuna.”
The film’s hero Nagarjuna replied to RGV’s tweet saying he felt the same and posted a line from a famous song from the movie Murali Krishna: Anukunamani jaragavu anni, anukoledhani aagavu konni, indicating that unexpected things do happen in life.
It may be mentioned here that the initial plan was to unveil the first look and title of the film on Sunday but with news about Sridevi’s death breaking in the wee hours of the day, RGV and team decided to postpone it by a couple of days. Incidentally, RGV is an ardent Sridevi fan and had directed her in two films – Kshana Kshanam (1991) and Govinda Govinda (1994) while Nag had shared screen space with the gorgeous actor in the latter film and in Aakhari Poratam (1988).
Titled Officer, the cop thriller will bring back Nag and RGV together after a gap of nearly two and half decades. Interestingly, the last film they had worked together was Govinda Govinda with Sridevi playing the female lead. Officer is slated for release on May 25 worldwide.
Pairing up with Nag in Officer is Myra Sareen. The film is bankrolled by Sudeer Chandra and Ram Gopal Varma under the banner R Company. Nagarjuna plays a cop, an encounter specialist to be precise, in the film. With the motion poster creating a lot of expectations, fans now wait eagerly for the teaser and trailer to be out.
Nag’s last release Raju Gari Gadhi 2 was a good hit and expectations on his film with RGV are high. Putting up an impressive performance as Rudra, Nagarjuna shared screen space with Samantha in the movie. The film was directed by Ohmkar and produced by PVP. The star cast also included Seerat Kapoor, Ashwin Babu, Rao Ramesh, Vennela Kishore, Praveen, Nandu, Shakalaka Shankar, Naresh and Avinash.
