Lakshmi, a film that has Prabhu Deva in the lead, centres on a strict dance master played by Prabhu Deva and his little student. According to the buzz, the film is about the young girl’s ambition to become a dancer while she is forced into academics by her parents. Aishwarya Rajesh plays the mother of the young girl Ditya. 

Recently, a single from the film, Morrakka, was released online and it clearly showcases the youngster’s desire for the art while she fears her mother to continue it. The song has already garnered over 6 lakh views on YouTube. Veteran comedian Kovai Sarala plays the school principal who is supportive of the child’s passion for dance.

Directed by AL Vijay, Lakshmi is bankrolled by Prateek Chakravorty, Shruti Nallappa and R. Ravindran under the banners Pramod Films and Trident Arts. Sam CS has composed the music with Nirav Shah cranking the camera and Anthony handling the editing department.

While Prabhu Deva, Aishwarya Rajesh, Ditya Bhande and Kovai Sarala play the central characters in the film, those in the supporting roles include Karunakaran, Salman Yusuff Khan, Chaams, Akshat Singh, Jeet Das and Sam Paul.

Lakshmi is touted to be a dance film particularly for children. It features Ditya Bhande, the winner for a reality dance show on TV in the title role. Two other dancers, Akshat Singh and Jeet Das, also play pivotal roles in the film. The film is in the post-production mode and its makers are yet to announce the release date officially.
