The News Minute| February 1, 2015| 2.30 pm ISTMalayalam actor Mohanlal along with his new musical band “Lalisom- the Lal Effect” performed at the opening ceremony of the 35th National Games that kick started on Saturday at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. And though most Keralites worship the star, it looks like his band’s act at the National Games did not impress many.Facebook as well as YouTube now has videos and comments that point out the portions in which the star apparently was lip-syncing to a previously recorded audio tape, despite the gig being live. Malayalam film director Vinayan who was earlier critical of the band for reportedly charging Rs 2 crore for its gig spoke out on Lalisom’s performance on his FB page. Vinayan says the sheer amount of money wasted on the gig by the government has amazed him. The director added that though the initial show was not good, that doesn't mean they will never put up a good show.Post by Vinayan Tg.Another Malayalam news channel Media One has published a report which said that many in the industry are ridiculing “Mohanlal’s imperfect attempt to sing”.The band also gathered some criticism for their “boring lineup” and unimpressive songs. A number of other singers like Sujatha, Udit Narayanan, Alka Yagnik and Hariharan also sang with the band, while most of the songs were sung by actor Mohanlal. Earlier when the band was being targeted for allegedly charging a whopping amount of 2 crore rupees as its remuneration, the actor had stepped in to clarify that they were charging an amount, but that was to meet expenses of artistes' travel and accommodation. Mohanlal had insisted that he was performing in the event for free. The trolling on social media later took a serious turn as CPI(M) demanded that Mohanlal should return the Rs 1.8 crores that was given to Lalisom. Read-  Mohanlal's Lalisom and documents that reveal the Rs 1.8cr sham at National GamesBut still, a quick look through social media posts under the hash tag “Lolism” shows some feedback for this newly formed band.Post by Nikhil Wartooth.Post by Nikhil Wartooth.Read- A tea shop owner couple from Kerala who have visited 16 countries, one dream destination leftTweet
