Actor Mohanlal who would often turn into a playback singer for movies, is doing it again for the Ranjith directorial Drama. The song beginning with the words ‘Pandaro Cholleetille’ has gained good response online. The song features some behind-the-scenes visuals of Drama with the technicians and others.

Mohanlal has done playback singing in the past and the most recent number was ‘Azhake Azhake’ for the film Neerali.

Drama is set in the UK and a major portion of it is being shot there. According to sources close to Drama, Mohanlal and Asha Sharath are playing husband and wife in the movie and it is a film that will be rich with family sentiments and emotions. The two actors have worked together in films such as Drishyam, Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, Karmayodha and 1971: Beyond Borders.

Scripted and directed by Ranjith, Drama is expected to be a family entertainer that delves on the lives of NRIs living in the UK. The cast also includes Arundhathi Nag, Siddique, Niranj, Mythili, Shalin Zoya and Tini Tom and Baiju. We also hear that three directors - Dileesh Pothen, Shyama Prasad and Johny Antony – are playing pivotal roles in the film. Vinu Thomas is scoring the music and Azhagappan is cranking the camera for this film.

The movie is bankrolled by MK Nassar and Maha Subair under the banners Lilypad Motion Pictures and Varnachithra Good Line Productions. The shooting of Drama is currently on and it is expected to grace the theatres very soon.

I may be noted here that Mohanlal and Ranjith have a good track record at the box office. They had first teamed up for Ravanaprabhu in 2001 and worked together in films such as Chandrolsavam in 2005, Rock N' Roll in 2007, Spirit in 2012, Kadal Kadannu Oru Maathukutty in 2013 (cameo appearance), and Loham in 2015.
