When two National award winners from the film industry are teaming up for a film, naturally expectations from the project will be high. Well, that is reason enough for movie buffs to get excited about the Priyadarshan directorial which will have Malayalam star Mohanlal in the lead.
The groundwork for this film has begun already and will start rolling from next year. When enquired about Mohanlal’s role in the film, it was revealed by sources that he would be playing a police trainer. Incidentally, this is the first time the star will be seen playing a police trainer though he has essayed the role of a cop in several films earlier.
Priyadarshan and Mohanlal have worked together in numerous films such as Poochakkoru Mookkuthi in 1984, Aram + Aram = Kinnaram in 1985, Onnanam Kunnil Oradi Kunnil in 1985, Parayanumvayya Parayathirikkanumvayya, Boeing Boeing and their last outing together was Oppam last year which turned out to be a massive hit. It may be noted that Priyadarshan has plans to remake Oppam in Hindi as well as in Tamil very soon.
In the meantime, the director is busy donning the director’s robes for the Tamil movie Nimir which is the remake of the Malayalam hit Maheshinte Prathikaaram.
On the other hand, Mohanlal is busy with the VA Shri Kumar directorial Odiyan in which he plays the title role. He will also be starring in a Ajoy Varma film simultaneously.
The star’s Villain is touted to hit the silver screens later this month. Besides, he has a slew of projects in his kitty including the Prithviraj directorial Lucifer and VA Shri Kumar Menon directorial Randamoozham.
