There is no doubt that Mohanlal has a huge fan following in Tamil Nadu. The star has acted in several Tamil films in the past. It’s then no surprise that the makers of Lucifer have decided to release the Tamil dubbed version on May 3rd. Sources confirm that Kalaipuli S Thaanu will be releasing the movie in Kollywood under his banner V Creations.

Lucifer, which hit the marquee last month, turned out to be a massive success. The film was actor Prithviraj’s first as a director. Actor-writer Murali Gopy wrote the script for this political thriller. The film was produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner Aashirvad Cinemas.

Lucifer has Mohanlal, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith, and the Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi in pivotal roles. Those in supporting roles include Kalabhavan Shajon, Sai Kumar, Saniya Iyappan, director Fazil, Sunil Sughatha, Nyla Usha, Gijo John, Baiju Santhosh and so on.

Mohanlal plays Stephen Devassy in the film, a powerful man, whose mentor and Kerala Chief Minister PKR has died and talks are happening on who would succeed him.

It may be noted here that Mohanlal also has the Tamil movie Kaappaan in his kitty right now. Directed by KV Anand, the film has Suriya playing the lead role. Reports are that Mohanlal plays Arya’s father in the film. On Suriya’s role in Kaappaan we hear that he will be seen as the bodyguard for Mohanlal and Arya.

Mohanlal has earlier acted in popular Tamil films like Mani Ratnam’s Iruvar. He played MGR in this 1997 biopic, opposite Aishwarya Rai and Gauthami. In 2009, he starred with Kamal Haasan for the Tamil version of the much-acclaimed Hindi film A Wednesday. Mohanlal reprised the role of Anupam Kher’s police officer, while Kamal played Naseeruddin Shah’s role. He was also part of Vijay’s film Jilla in 2014.
