Mohanlal starrer Ittymaani: Made in China which will hit the screens this Onam has gone through the censor formalities and got a U certificate, according to Manorama Online. Bankrolled by Anthony Perumbavoor under his banner Aashirvad Cinemas, the film is directed by debutants Jibi and Joju.

Joju has earlier revealed that Mohanlal will be playing dual roles in the film, which is touted to be a comic caper. The star will be seen playing a father and his son in the movie. However, the role of the father will be very small, we hear.

The official trailer of the film, which was recently released focuses on Ittymaani, played by Mohanlal. It also has a few funny scenes with KPAC Lalitha, who plays Mohanlal’s ammachi, Siddique, who is playing a priest and Honey Rose, who is at her glamorous best. Madhuri Braganza, who played one of the lead roles in the Malayalam film Joseph last year, is paired opposite Mohanlal. Veteran actor Radikaa Sarathkumar is also a part of the film. Mohanlal and Radikaa are working together in a film after 34 years. 

Mohanlal is currently busy with a number of films in different stages of production. One of the upcoming films is Big Brother. The first schedule began in Ernakulam last month. Big Brother has in its cast, actors Arbaaz Khan, Anoop Menon, Sarjano Khalid, Satna Titus and others. While Mohanlal, Anoop Menon and Sarjano Khalid play brothers in this flick, Arbaaz will be seen as a police officer.

He also has Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham waiting for release early next year. The shooting of this historical was wrapped up a couple of months ago and it is currently in the post-production stage. The film, made on a budget of Rs 100 crore, is produced jointly by Antony Perumbavoor, Santhosh T Kuruvilla and CJ Roy under their respective banners Aashirvad Cinemas, Confident Group and Moonshot Entertainment. Award-winning director Priyadarshan is wielding the megaphone for this venture.
