AK Sajan, well known for directing crime thrillers, is directing a romantic entertainer for the first time. Titled Neeyum Njaanum, the film will mark Sharafudheen’s debut as hero. Anu Sithara plays the female lead in this flick. The trailer of this film was released some weeks ago to positive response and so did the sound track. With the promos working favourably, Neeyum Njaanum is now set for release on January 18.

Interestingly, the film will have the veteran star Mohanlal playing a guest role. This was revealed by Anu Sithara on Instagram with a captioned picture, thanking the star. Besides the lead pair of Sharafudheen and Anu Sithara, the star cast also includes Siju Wilson, Vishnu Unnikrishnan, Dileesh Pothan, Surabhi Lakshmi and Aju Varghese.

Neeyum Njaanum is produced by Siyad Koker under the banner of Kokers Films and it will be distributed jointly by Kokers Films and Lamp Movies. The technical crew of this film includes Clinto Antony for cinematography, Vinu Thomas for music and AR Akhil for editing.

The film’s launch happened in Kozhikode last year on August 29 and was shot in Kozhikode, Palakkad, Mumbai and Dubai. The shooting was wrapped up in November and the post-production took about a couple of months to be completed.

It may be noted that Mohanlal was seen in an extended cameo in the Nivin Pauly starrer Kayamkulam Kochunni, which received a good response last year. His last film release was Odiyan.

Mohanlal currently has two biggies on his hands and they are Lucifer and Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham. While Lucifer is being helmed by actor Prithviraj and it happens to be his maiden directorial, Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham is being directed by the seasoned director Priyadarshan on a big budget. Lucifer is touted to be a summer release this year and Marakkar is slated for release early next year.
