The Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) will be bankrolling a film and an announcement pertaining to this was made a few days ago. The buzz was that either Mammootty or Mohanlal would be playing the lead role in it. Now, we get to hear through sources that Mohanlal will be roped in for the project.

The film will be scripted by FEFKA’s President Renji Panicker and directed by its vice-president Jeethu Joseph. More details about it are expected to be out soon.

Meanwhile, Mohanlal’s Lucifer is gearing up for release in March this year. Lucifer is one of the most anticipated films in the Malayalam film industry as it marks the directorial debut of actor Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film has Mohanlal playing the lead role with Manju Warrier, Indrajith Sukumaran, Vivek Oberoi, and Tovino Thomas in pivotal roles. Those in the supporting roles include Kalabhavan Shajon, Sai Kumar, director Fazil, Sunil Sughatha, Thara Kalyan, Praveena Thomas and Mala Parvathy.

Mohanlal is currently busy with the magnum opus Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham. The film is directed by Priyadarshan, who had associated with Mohanlal in several hit movies before. Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, made on a budget of Rs 100 crore, will be produced jointly by Antony Perumbavoor, Santhosh T Kuruvilla and CJ Roy under their respective banners Aashirvad Cinemas, Confident Group and Moonshot Entertainment. The title ‘Kunjali Marakkar’ was bestowed on naval chiefs during the 16th century and these naval chiefs fought valiantly against the Portuguese army. There were four Kunjali Marakkars during that era, of which the fourth is the most valiant and popular.

It will have extensive sea warfare sequences. The film’s technical crew includes cinematographer Tirru and editor MS Ayyappan Nair. This film is scheduled for release in 2020. Sources in the know say that the shooting will be completed by mid 2019 and the post production will take around six months.
