Director KV Anand has confirmed that he has completed shooting portions involving Mohanlal in his upcoming film Kaappaan. He tweeted: “#Kaappaan - It is a wrap for @Mohanlal Sir. Great actor... simply behaved the character seemly.”

Kaappaan, which will be Suriya’s 37th film, has the veteran Malayalam actor Mohanlal in a pivotal role alongside Arya. Reports are that Mohanlal plays Arya’s father in the film. On Suriya’s role in Kaappaan we hear that he will be seen playing the bodyguard of Mohanlal and Arya.

Mohanlal is said to be playing a Prime Minister. The film originally starred Telugu actor Allu Sirish in a crucial role. He later chose to exit from the project and had revealed the reason via a statement.

While Sayyeshaa Saigal plays the female lead, those in the supporting cast includes Boman Irani, Samuthirakani, Prem, Cirag Jani, and Mayilsami. The film has been scripted jointly by the director and the veteran writer Pattukottai Prabhakar. Kaapaan is being bankrolled by A Subashkaran on a huge budget under his banner Lyca Productions.

Harris Jayaraj is the music composer for this film. Abhinandan Ramanujam is the cinematographer and the editing is done by Anthony. It may be mentioned here that MS Prabhu had worked as the cinematographer for the first schedule but he had to opt out for various reasons and was replaced by Abhinandan Ramanujam.

The shooting of this film is currently on and it is expected to hit the marquee in October this year. The filmmakers are yet to reveal the exact date of its release. The film’s shooting began in London last year and will be shot in various places including New York, Brazil, New Delhi and Hyderabad.

Director KV Anand is associating with Suriya for the third time after Ayan and Maattraan.
