It looks the Malayalam film industry will be facing one of the biggest box office clashes this March. The Mohanlal starrer Lucifer is gearing up for release on March 28th and we hear that Dulquer Salman’s Oru Yamandan Premakatha is also heading for release on the same day.  Both these films are highly anticipated, as one marks the directorial debut of actor Prithviraj and the other brings back Dulquer to Malayalam after a long gap. It needs to be seen if there would be a clash or if it will be averted.

Lucifer is the one marking Prithvi’s directorial debut. The film has Mohanlal playing the lead role with Manju Warrier, Indrajith Sukumaran, Vivek Oberoi, and Tovino Thomas in pivotal roles. Those in the supporting roles include Kalabhavan Shajon, Sai Kumar, director Fazil, Sunil Sughatha, Thara Kalyan, Praveena Thomas and Mala Parvathy. Veteran writer and actor Murali Gopy has penned the script for Lucifer which is touted to be a political thriller. The film is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner Aashirvad Cinemas. The technical crew of the film includes Sujith Vaassudev for cinematography and Samjith for editing while Stephen Devassy is in charge of the music composition.

Then again there is Oru Yamandan Premakatha, touted to be a comedy entertainer. The film has Samyuktha Menon and Nikhila Vimal sharing screen space with Dulquer Salman besides a host of other actors such as Salim Kumar, Soubin Shahir, Hareesh Kanaran, Dharmajan, Bibin and Vishnu Unnikrishnan in supporting roles. Debut director BC Noufal is wielding the megaphone for this venture with Vishnu Unnikrishnan and Bibin George penning the script. The film is being bankrolled by Anto Joseph under his banner.

Dulquer currently has the Bollywood film Zoya Factor needing his attention. The film is based on the novel of the same title penned by Anuja Chauhan. It is about an advertising agency executive, Zoya Singh Solanki getting to meet the Indian Cricket Team and turning out to be their lucky mascot which eventually helps the team to lift the Cricket World Cup in 2010.
