Megha Akash roped in for Akhil Akkineni’s next?
On Rama Navami, Akhil Akkineni’s third film went on to the floors with the official pooja. Ever since then, there have been various reports about the film, which has not been titled yet.
According to the latest buzz, the makers of the film have approached Megha Akash to play the female lead and the actor is trying to accommodate it. Sources say that an official announcement about Megha Akash’s inclusion in the project may be made in a few days.
Directed by Venky Atluri, the film is touted to be a romantic entertainer. His last outing Tholi Prema, released in February this year, turned out to be a hit, following which he bagged the offer to direct the young actor from the Akkineni clan.
Akhil Akkineni made his debut as hero with Akhil but the film did not do too well at the box office. His next release was Hello, which again did not rake in profits, failing to recover the high production cost (Rs 35 crore plus) as it couldn’t withstand the competition from Nani’s MCA.
Following this, Akhil is keen on coming up with a massive hit and has associated with Venky Atluri, who is on a winning streak. The untitled film will be bankrolled by BVSN Prasad under his banner Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra. Incidentally, Prasad had produced Tholi Prema as well. S Thaman, who composed music for Tholi Prema, has been signed up to score the music for this venture.
It may be noted that Megha Akash was first approached for Akhil’s Hello last year, but she turned down the offer due to date issues, following which the offer went to Kalyani Priyadarshan.
Megha Akash made her debut with the Telugu movie LIE starring Nithin as her lead pair, which turned out to be a failure at the box office. She has three Tamil films – Enai Noki Paayum Thota, Oru Pakka Kathai and Boomerang – lined up for release in various stages of production. She also has another Telugu flick in her kitty, Chal Mohan Ranga, in which she will share screen space with Nithin again.
