Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday said that Chief Justice Mohan M Shantanagoudar has promised to remove all restrictions faced by the media in covering court proceedings. CM met the chief justice at his residence.

It was learnt that no reply had been given by the HC to the complaint filed by reporters, the CM said, while speaking to reporters. “The CJ has agreed to give a reply to the complaint. It will be publicly announced that there will be no obstacle for media in coming to the court. The CJ said it is his hope that there won't be any further issues in relation to this,” as per ToI report.

“However, it is seen that normalcy could not be restored even now; I met the CJ along with the advocate general in these circumstances,” he said, The Times of India reported.

The CM said that he delayed his meeting with the Chief Justice because he had been notified through the advocate general that all restrictions on the media had been lifted.
