A spying bug found in the car of Narsipatanam Municipality Vice Chairmen Ch Sanyasi Patrudu, younger brother of State minister Ch Ayyanna Patrudu has created tension in the family.

After another brother of the minister, Ch Srinivas Patrudu, was killed allegedly by Maoists in the late 90s, the minister was also targeted by Maoists who made a failed bid on his life, at his residence in 2011 in Visakhapatnam.

The device was apparently found in the car two days back while it was being washed, The New Indian Express reported.

In 2015, Maoists had threatened to kill the Minister by putting pressure on him to desist from giving permission for bauxite mining and urging him to resign from the ministry.

The minister’s son Ch Vijay too, was threatened with dire consequences earlier this year, if he didn’t give up his involvement in illegal digging of quarries in the district.

In view of growing threats, police have increased security cover to the family of the minister and suggested them not to visit the agency area without prior intimation.

Apparently, Patrudu doesn't have any idea of who could have planted the bug (voice recorder) and since how many days it had been in the car.

Rural SP Rahul Dev Sharma told TNIE that no complaint has been given either by Sanyasi Patrudu or the minister.

When Narsipatanam police approached Sanyasi, he apparently told them that he would approach them after discussing with his family.
