Director Sajid Yahiya’s upcoming film Mohanlal has Manju Warrier and Indrajith playing the lead roles. In this movie, Manju Warrier plays an ardent Mohanlal fan, it has been revealed. Sources say that her character is named Meenukutty and she will be seen as a diehard Mohanlal fan in the movie. 

The teaser of the film, released a few days ago, garnered positive reviews from film buffs and the song that was played in the trailer also created high expectation levels. We hear that the team is planning to have the film out in theatres for Vishu this year and that the dates are being worked out.

According to reports, the movie revolves around a woman, played by Manju Warrier, who is deeply influenced by Mohanlal’s onscreen persona. As a 6-year-old, Manju solves an important issue in her life after getting inspired by a Mohanlal starrer and since then becomes his diehard fan. Meenu was born on the day when the Mollywood superstar appeared for the first time on the silver screens across Kerala, through the iconic movie Manjil Virinja Pookal

The film also has Salim Kumar playing an important role. His character name in the film has been revealed to be Sathan Kumar while Indrajith’s character is named Sethu Madhavan. The star cast also includes Aju Varghese, Hareesh, Perumanna, Soubin Shahir and Sethu Lakshmi among others.

The film is bankrolled by Anil Kumar under his banner Mindset Movies. While Tony Joseph has composed the soundtrack music, the background score has been composed by Prakash Alex.

Director Sajid made his debut as an actor with the 2011 release Collector and has acted in a number of films before donning the director’s robes for the first time for IDI – Inspector Dawood Ibrahim, which had Jayasurya in the lead. Mohanlal is his second directorial.

Manju’s latest venture was Aami, a biopic of renowned writer-poet Kamala Das. The film opened to mixed responses at the box office, but Manju has been receiving accolades from all quarters for her performance.
