Manju Warrier’s first production venture Kayattam is a film about mountaineering. She is producing it along with Shaji Mathew and Aruna Mathew. Besides bankrolling the film, Manju is also playing the lead role in it. She has released the first look poster of the film online on Friday. It shows her face, and a few people trekking among snow-covered mountains.

Award winning filmmaker Sanal Kumar Sasidharan is directing the film. Sanal has penned the script and is also in charge of the editing and the sound designing. The technical crew comprises Chandru Selvaraj for camera work and Ratheesh Eettillam for music. Apparently, there will be 10 songs in this album.

Sanal too shared the poster and wrote on Facebook: “Thrilled, tensed and excited.. my new film’s first look poster.. A’hr ( kayattam).. This time we have Manju Warrier with us, as Maya the protagonist and as a producer. A dream come true for me. We have shot more than half of the film and we need another schedule to finish the shoot. Till the final film comes out, I am sure that I am going to feel this complex mindset due to the combo of thrill, tension and excitement!”

It may be noted here that Manju Warrier and team were stranded in Himachal Pradesh where they were shooting, for nearly six days following heavy rains and landslides. Soon after being rescued, the actor turned producer wrote on her social media page, “Very happy and relieved to inform all of you that me and the entire team of the movie Kayattam by Sanalkumar Sasidharan reached back safe by midnight in Manali and are completely safe now after being stranded for six days in the regions of Shiyagoru and Chhatru in Himachal Pradesh due to snowfall and landslides.”

Besides Kayattam, Manju Warrier has Jack and Jill, which has reached the post-production stage. The film is directed by Santosh Sivan and stars Kalidas Jayaram. She is also all set for her first release in Kollywood, Asuran, by the critically acclaimed director Vettrimaran, and with Dhanush playing the male lead.
