Earlier this month, there were reports that megastar Mammootty will be working with debut director Jofin T Chacko in a film that has not been titled yet. Sources in the know say that it is a thriller that has impressed the star so much that he allotted dates for it pushing back other projects in the pipeline. The shooting is scheduled to begin next month. Anto Joseph will be bankrolling the film under his banner.

According to the latest reports about this yet to be titled film, we hear that Manju Warrier has been signed up to play a crucial role in it. Now, this is certainly big news as the two stars have never before shared screen space in their careers despite being in the industry for a long time.

Mammootty’s next film release will be Mamangam on December 12. Mamangam, directed by noted filmmaker M Padmakumar, has reached the final stages of post-production. It is a heavy budget film made on a budget of Rs 50 crore. It is expected to hit the marquee on November 21.

With Ganesh Rajavelu aka Jim Ganesh wielding the camera, M Jayachandran scoring the music, Sreekar Prasad in charge of the editing, and Kaecha Khamphakdee choreographing the stunts, the film has a strong technical team. It is bankrolled by Venu Kunnampilly under the banner Kavya Films.

Manju Warrier’s next film to hit the marquee will be Prathi Poovankozhi, which is slated for release on December 20. Prathi Poovankozhi, directed by Rosshan Andrrews, is based on Unni R’s short story with the same title. In the film, Manju Warrier will be playing a salesgirl working in a textile shop. Anusree is also playing an important role in the film. Manju and Rosshan are teaming up five years after How Old Are You, the movie in which the former made her comeback after a gap of 14 years.
