The NTR biopic is one of the most anticipated biopics in the Telugu film industry. With a number of biopics being made currently, including the YSR biopic Yatra and the Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy biopic Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, fans are looking forward for the NTR biopic as it features N Balakrishna, son of NTR, in the titular role.

According to the latest reports about the film, Malayalam actor Manjima Mohan has been approached to play the role of Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu’s wife in the film. Sources close to the actor have confirmed that the NTR team has offered Manjima the role of Nara Bhuvaneswari, who is also NTR's daughter, in the film. Manjima will be sharing screen space with Rana Daggubati, who plays the role of Chandrababu Naidu.

Manjima had made her Tollywood debut with Gautham Menon's Saahasam Swaasaga Saagipo, acting opposite Naga Chaitanya, a couple of years ago. Since then, she has been mostly seen in Malayalam and Tamil movies. She will next be seen in Bollywood hit Queen's Malayalam remake.

The film also made headlines with reports that Bollywood actor Vidya Balan has been roped in to play NTR’s wife Basavatharakam. Keerthy Suresh has been approached to play Savitri in the NTR biopic and she has agreed to do it. It is well-known that Savitri and NT Rama Rao shared screen space in several films during their heydays as hero and heroine and have come out with blockbuster hits.

The biopic is bankrolled by N Balakrishna along with Sai Korrapati and Vishnu Induri. Director Teja was initially roped in to direct it but he opted out for various reasons and now the project is helmed by J Krish.
