Manjima Mohan finalised for 'Queen' Malayalam remake

The film has been titled 'Zam Zam'.

It has been confirmed that Manjima Mohan will play the lead role in the upcoming remake of the Bollywood blockbuster Queen.

The film has been titled Zam Zam. The rest of the star cast and the director to helm this remake haven't been finalized yet, add sources.

Conveying her happiness over being a part of this remake, Manjima had tweeted: "Super privileged to be part of this prestigious project 'Zam Zam'. Will do my best to do justice to the role.”

Recently, the Tamil version of this remake was launched in Chennai. Kajal Aggarwal has been roped in to play the female lead in Paris Paris and actor-filmmaker Ramesh Aravind will be wielding the megaphone for the film.

During the film launch, Kajal Agarwal had said that she would give the role her own touch and was not there to fit into someone else’s shoes. Interestingly, Ramesh Aravind is directing the Kannada version as well. Titled Butterfly, the film has Parul Yadav playing the lead character. The Telugu version, which remains untitled as of now, will be directed by Neelakanta Reddy with Tammannah Bhatia reprising Kangna Ranaut’s role.

Amy Jackson will be playing the heroine’s friend in all the four languages.

Queen was directed by Vikas Bhal with Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane and Madhu Mantena producing it under the banner Phantom Films.

The film’s main star cast included Kangana Ranaut, Rajkummar Rao and Lisa Haydon. Queen went on to win a host of awards including the Best Actress award for Kangna Ranaut and Best Feature Film in Hindi. With Queen being remade in all thfour south Indian languages, movie buffs just can’t wait to watch the adaptations in their own language.
