Telugu director Puri Jagannadh’s son Akash Puri’s upcoming film Romantic will have an interesting addition to the star cast. Well known television host and Hindi actor Mandira Bedi has been roped in to play an important role in the film. Romantic is directed by Anil Paduri and has been written by Puri Jagannadh. Ketika Sharma, a newbie, will be sharing the screen space with Akash in the film.
Mandira Bedi is expected to join the sets of this film in Goa, where the team is stationed for the shooting. Akash’s previous film, Mehbooba directed by Puri Jagannadh bombed at the box-office.
Romantic will be Mandira’s her second Telugu film. She will be making her debut in Tollywood with Prabhas’ Saaho, which is currently under production.
Saaho, directed by Sujeeth, is bankrolled by V Vamshi Krishna Reddy and Pramod Uppalapati under the banner UV Creations with a budget of whopping Rs. 300 crores. The film’s star cast also includes Neil Nitin Mukesh, Lal, Arun Vijay, Jackie Shroff, Vennela Kishore, Mahesh Manjrekar and Chunkey Pandey in supporting roles. While Prabhas plays the male lead in this action entertainer, sharing the screen space with him as his heroine is Shraddha Kapoor.
The technical crew of this film includes Shankar – Ehsaan – Loy for composing music with R Madhi weilding the camera and A Sreekar Prasad editing. Saaho is a trilingual that will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
Saaho is undoubtedly one of the most expected films this year as it happens to be Prabhas first film after the astounding success of the Baahubali franchise. With the star enjoying a big fan following across India, Saaho is sure to get a big opening. It is set for a grand release on August 15 this year.
