The News Minute | September 25, 2014 | 09:20 am ISTStudents of a Kancheepuram university, Sri Chandrasekharendra Viswa Maha Vidyalaya (SCSVMV) University,  protested against the authorities’ inaction after an electrician was caught filming girl students taking bath in the hostel on Wednesday. The electrician, Ravi, was caught in the act when a fellow student found him filming another student when he had gone to fix a geyser, said The Times of India.Things turned ugly when the warden refused to take action against him. Over 5,000 students started protesting over the inaction before the authorities handed the man over to the police. The memory card containing the videos were destroyed once the electrician was caught. Hence, police said that due to lack of evidence they could not prove that he had filmed students, said TOI. This lead to the protests. After the man’s arrest, the warden and deputy warden of the college have been dismissed. However, students continued to protest demanding an apology from the college warden.
