A man was found injured with gunshot wounds inside a car on the Outer Ring Road near Manchirevula, on the outskirts of Hyderabad city on Thursday. Police have identified the man as 32-year-old Faizal Ahmed, a resident of Lower Tank Bund area in the city. Faizal was found alone in the car, lying in a pool of blood in the driver’s seat of a red Mercedes-Benz sedan.

The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon around 3 PM. Traffic police who found Faizal alerted the Narsingi police, who reached the spot along with emergency response services. Police claim that the man appeared to have attempted to take his life.

Speaking to the media, the police said, “We found that he was still alive when we reached. We sent him to Care Hospitals. We found his cell phone and a pistol in the car, along with some empty cartridges.” Faizal is said to have been running a US consultancy in the city. The police said that while they are yet to secure complete details, it appears that he might have tried to take his life because his company was in debt.

“His condition is critical. The bullets were fired to his head so the injuries were critical,” the police said. As of now, it is unclear whether the weapon belonged to Faizal, and the incident is being further investigated.

Faizal was taken to Care Hospital in Banjara Hills, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Earlier this year in February, in another terrible incident on the Outer Ring Road, a man was burnt alive after the car he was driving caught fire near Sultanpur village in Sangareddy district's Ameenpur mandal. The man was unable to open the door and died while trapped inside the car. Although eyewitnesses from the service road ran towards the car to help, they were unable to save him.
