Malayalam mega star Mammootty and the core team of the upcoming film CBI 5 are meeting regularly to discuss the project. According to latest reports, the scriptwriter of the film, SN Swamy has said that the star suggested some changes to the script and he is working on it.

In an interview to the Times of India, SN Swamy said, “We had a meeting with Mammootty recently and he has suggested a few changes. One of the highlights of the film will be basket killings. I can’t reveal what it is right now, as it’s a suspense element.”

Mammootty currently has a few films in his kitty including Mamangam, Shylock and One. Reports are that the shooting of CBI 5 will begin in March next year and in the meantime Mammootty will be completing his current projects. 

So far, four installments of the CBI franchise have been made with K Madhu directing it and SN Swamy penning the script. Mammootty has played the lead character, an investigative officer called Sethurama Iyer in all the films. The movies include Oru CBI Diary Kuruppu (1988), Jagratha (1989), Sethurama Iyer CBI (2004) and Nerariyan CBI (2005).

Mammootty’s next release will be Mamangam, which is scheduled to hit the marquee on November 21. The film, directed by noted filmmaker M Padma Kumar, has reached the final stages of post-production. It is a heavy budget film made on a budget of Rs 50 crore. 

The film is a historical based on a medieval fair for the warriors. It has four heroines, Prachi Desai, Prachi Tehlan, Malavika Menon and Abhirami V Iyer in the cast and those playing supporting roles are Unni Mukundan, Neeraj Madhav, Sunil Sukhada, Meghanathan and Sohan Seenulal.

Mammootty has also wrapped up the shooting of Shylock recently and is moving over to One, a political drama in which he will appear as the chief minister of Kerala.
