The Mammootty starrer, Peranbu, is garnering the attention of the film personalities big time. There have been positive reviews about this film from film personalities who have been lucky enough to watch it.

Recently, G Dhananjayan, noted producer and writer, tweeted, “So emotionally moved and touched by the way Ram narrated the life of a father and daughter.” Adding that Peranbu is the pride of Tamil cinema, he pointed out that no other actor could have done the role with “so much texture and finesse.” In the movie, Mammootty plays a doting father, who works abroad as a taxi driver.

Directed by ace director Ram, the film has been produced by PL Thenappan under his banner Sri Rajalakshmi Films. Peranbu will premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) this month before its release in theatres. Mammootty plays the lead role in this family entertainer that also has Sarath Kumar, Anjali, Anjali Ameer, Samuthirakani, Vadivukkarasi, Sadhana, Livingston, Suraj Venjaramood, Siddique and Aruldoss in important roles.

Anjali Ameer is a transgender model who bagged the role after Mammootty reportedly insisted on giving her a chance to act, following which she will be making her debut in films.

Peranbu will premiere at the Rotterdam film festival on January 27 and, going by reports, its release in India is scheduled in May. The technical crew of the film includes Yuvan Shankar Raja for music, Vairamuthu penning the lyrics, Theni Easwar wielding the camera and A Sreekar Prasad for editing. Peranbu is a bilingual that will release in Tamil as well as Malayalam.

Looks like Ram, who has critically acclaimed films such as Kattradhu Thamizh, Thanga Meenkal and Tharamani to his credit, has come out with another masterpiece. With Peranbu premiering at the international film fest, movie buffs will have to wait for some more time to catch it on the silver screens.
