Malayalam megastar Mammootty will join the sets of his new film with Santosh Vishwanath next month. Bobby and Sanjay are the scriptwriters for this untitled film and this is the first time that they are teaming up with Mammootty. According to reports, the lead star in the film will be seen playing the Chief Minister. While there is still no clarity on the complete cast, we hear that Vishnu Unnikrishnan, Renji Panicker and Sreenivasan have been signed up to play supporting roles.  

In the meantime, Mammootty is expecting the release of Maamaankam. Made on a budget of Rs 50 crore, Maamaankam is being directed by M Padmkumar. The film is a historical based on a medieval fair for the warriors and it is presumed that Unni Mukundan will be playing a warrior in it as well. The film has four heroines - Prachi Desai, Prachi Tehlan, Malavika Menon and Abhirami V Iyer.

The technical crew include Ganesh Rajavelu aka Jim Ganesh wielding the camera, M Jayachandran scoring the music, Sreekar Prasad in charge of the editing, and Kaecha Khamphakdee choreographing the stunts. The film is being bankrolled by Venu Kunnampilly under the banner Kavya Films.

The other Mammootty starrer set for release is Ganagandharvan. The post-production is happening in full swing and it will hit the marquee on September 27.

Mammootty is also busy with Shylock. The shooting of this film commenced last month and is progressing steadily. Shylock will be a bilingual that will be released in Tamil and Malayalam. Directed by Ajai Vasudev, this is the third time he is teaming up with Mammootty. The film will have Meena playing the female lead with veteran Tamil actor Raj Kiran in an important role. Interestingly, the film will mark the debut of Raj Kiran in the Malayalam film industry.
